This should make you feel better, weekend golfers. Even the best players in the world hit shanks, and World No. 1 Jason Day hit a dandy during the third round of the British Open on Saturday at Royal Troon.

Day had a bad lie and was in the long stuff left of the par-4 12th fairway with 147 yards to the green. But he hit the ball off the hosel and it soared waaaaayyyy right and behind a hospitality tent. You could even hear Day say "shank" after he hit it.

Day bogeyed the hole and finished with a 71. He's one over for the tournament. You can check out the shank of the day below.
