Spectators have been dodging the elements the last two days at the British Open at Royal Troon, but now they might have something else to look out for: Rory McIlroy's flying clubs.
During Saturday's third round, McIlroy hit a poor approach shot with a fairway wood on the par-5 16th hole and then proceeded to slam the club into the ground in anger. The club head immediately snapped off and went flying down the fairway. McIlroy recovered and went on to par the hole. Watch a clip of Rory's fury below.
McIlroy has been one of the hot topics of the week in Troon after a controversial press conference on Tuesday. He won the British Open in 2014 and is currently tied foe 20th after a third-round 73.
