Phil Mickelson Hits Drive Onto Old Course Hotel Balcony in Round 4

Day 4 of the British Open in 52 Seconds
Jeff Ritter recaps all the action from the third round of the 2015 British Open at St. Andrews.

It’s another classic case of Phil being Phil.

In the final round of the British Open on Monday, Phil Mickelson made a run and was 10-under after 16 (6-under for the day) and only two off the lead. But then came the Road Hole, which has been tormenting players all week.

Mickelson’s drive on the long par-4 went way right and landed on the balcony of one of the rooms at the Old Course Hotel. A similar poor tee shot slowed Phil during round 3, when his tee shot went into the burn on the par-4 first hole.

Mickelson went on to make triple-bogey on 17, then parred 18 to finish 7-under for the tournament.
