US Open 2016 Odds: Spieth, McIlroy, Jason Day Favorites to Win

Despite Jordan Spieth's loss in the 2016 Masters, he is still the favorite to win at Oakmont.
Despite Jordan Spieth's loss in the 2016 Masters, he is still the favorite to win at Oakmont.

Even though Jordan Spieth lost the 2016 Masters in spectacular fashion to Englishman Danny Willett, he is still the favorite to win the 2016 U.S. Open.

According to GOLFodds.com, Spieth leads the pack of prospective winners at Oakmont in June with 7-1 odds. Right there with him are the other two top players in the world, Rory McIlroy and Jason Day, both at 8-1.

Dusin Johnson (5-1) and a three-way tie between Rickie Fowler, Adam Scott and Justin Rose (20-1) round out the top five.

Spieth will defend his 2015 title at Oakmont Country Club, which has been remodeled since it last hosted the tournament in 2007. Expect less trees and more bunkers to come into play, making precision and short game excellence key -- two things Spieth happens to be very good at.
