At the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits, we’ve seen everything from launched clubs to toboggan slides to an impressive up-and-down from the water by Rory McIlroy. On Saturday afternoon, Justin Rose stepped into the water and one-upped the World No. 1 with a birdie.
While Rose’s ball was not actually hit from the water, he rolled up his pants and got down and dirty to hit his third shot on the par-5 fifth hole to the green. Rose was off to a bit of a slow start, having double-bogeyed the hole prior to fall back to 1-over par on the day. But the shot from the water provided the spark he needed. Check it out.
Rose drained the ensuing 21-foot putt to get back to even par on the day. He then birdies the par-3 seventh to reach 9-under, four shots behind Matt Jones' lead at the time.
