Dustin Johnson Opens Final Round of PGA With Quadruple Bogey
The first hole at Whistling Straits was not kind to Dustin Johnson Sunday afternoon at the PGA Championship.
Johnson stepped onto the first tee at 9-under par, six back of the 54-hole lead held by Jason Day. But the 31-year-old and nine-time PGA Tour winner would leave the hole with a quadruple-bogey eight, tumbling down the leaderboard and squashing any hope he had for a comeback win at the year’s final major.
Of course, Sundays at majors this year have been DJ’s nemesis, but today he began without a realistic shot at contending. However, he's never had an opening hole Sunday at a major quite like this one. Check it out below.
