Ian Poulter has 1,474,384 followers on Twitter. He apparently doesn't appreciate all of them.
Last Monday, he said he was instituting a self-imposed ban from the social media site because of all of the "F#%€ing idiots." But now he's back. If only for a moment.
Just a quick note to say, I still love all you guys, I'm just having a chill. Off to play a fun none holes with pals at Albany. Over and out

Being one of the more active players on social media, criticism on Twitter comes with the territory. Poulter routinely talks about blocking followers, but he reached a breaking point on the Monday after the Masters. He responded to a question inquiring if he had congratulated Adam Scott on his victory the previous day. MorganApple23 thought his response sounded curt and asked if he had sour grapes. Poulter said he was happy for Scott, but then sent out the following tweet announcing his departure from Twitter "for now."
I've had enough of twitter for now. So many F#%€ing idiots. Time out. I'm tied of blocking myself. I'm letting someone else block the pricks

Since he's tweeted pictures of every section of his in-home trophy case and his children playing croquet while he watched soccer on his outdoor television, we can imagine Poulter has experienced some negative commentary on Twitter.
