After catching his hand in a hotel door Friday morning, Graeme McDowell played through pain to post a three-over 75 at the WGC-HSBC Champions.
McDowell's manager, Conor Ridge, confirmed that McDowell bruised his hand when he shut it in a door before the second round in Shenzhen, China. Ridge told Golf Channel that he thought McDowell would continue to play this tournament, and the other events he has scheduled for 2012.
"He's not going to want to miss any of them," Ridge noted. "He won't want to miss the last two rounds here, let's be honest. Hopefully he's OK, but knowing him he'd have to be pretty bad not to play."In addition to the final two rounds at the HSBC, McDowell is
scheduled to play the Australian Masters (Nov. 15-18), the World Tour Championship in Dubai (Nov. 22-25) and Tiger Woods's World Challenge in California (Nov. 29-Dec. 2).
McDowell tweeted about the injury and to let fans know that he would continue to play:
