Truth & Rumors: Irish bookmaker hires skywriter to Tweet above Ryder Cup

Saturday September 29th, 2012

Something has to shake up the European side after a stale performance on the Ryder Cup's first day. And one Irish bookmaker was thinking just what you were: Write 200-foot high motivational tweets in the sky with a stunt plane 10,000 feet over Medinah. Right-O.
That's the plan schemed up by Paddy Power, the aforementioned Irish bookmaker, and they're committed to it, according to the Guardian.

The Irish bookmaker intends to use stunt pilots to create Twitter messages more than 200ft tall – bigger than London's Shard skyscraper – to "redress the balance" against what is expected to be a vociferous home crowd backing the US team.
Paddy Power's latest PR stunt, "Sky Tweet", will see 40 Twitter messages from fans written in the sky over the course of the weekend tournament from the start of play on Saturday.
