Researchers in Scotland were searching for evidence of the Loch Ness Monster when they came across something they didn't expect—hundreds of thousands of golf balls. Evidently the lake has been used by tourists and locals as a driving range for many years. The anecdote about Loch Ness was reported by as part of a story about the environmental impact of lost and discarded balls.
