TPC is adding two more famous courses to its roster: Doral's Blue Monster and PGA West's Stadium Course. The changes become effective on Nov. 1, but the course names and logos will change immediately. The names will change to TPC Blue Monster at Doral and the TPC Stadium Course at PGA West.
There are currently 31 private and resort golf properties in the TPC Network, which provides the PGA Tour with rent-free venues for tournaments. Doral has hosted a tournament since 1962 and is the site of the WGC-CA Championship. The Stadium Course has held many tour events throughout the years, and is currently used in alternate years for the finals of Q School.
“The Blue Monster has a longstanding history as a host venue with the tour and
this new partnership undoubtedly will further elevate the visibility and
award-winning reputation of Doral’s marquee golf course," said
Mark Jeffrey, general manager of Doral Golf Resort & Spa in the press release.
The Stadium Course was previously affiliated with the TPC Network, and PGA West Executive Director Mike Kelly explained the new partnership would be "an extension and enhancement of a former affiliation."
“We look forward to working with
PGA Tour Golf Course Properties on creating exciting new packages and playing
opportunities for the TPC Stadium Course at PGA West,” he said.
David Pillsbury, president of PGA Tour Golf Course Properties, also added in the press release that the strategy is to continue to increase the number of TPC licensed golf courses over the next several years. Course Finder: Doral Golf Resort | PGA West
