What to Watch For: Saturday at the Memorial Tournament
By Gary Van SickleSenior Writer, Sports IllustratedTiger Woods. Duh. Need I say more? Friday wasn't a good day for Tiger, but he's just one 31 away from popping back into contention. He said he's happier with his game, and that his swing is starting to come around. In my opinion, it's a good idea to believe him.Jim Furyk. The last two years have been slim on wins for Furyk, but he's been relentlessly like Tom Kite in his consistency and number of high finishes. The putter is working better again, finally. He's already won here, and he's an adopted Ohioan since he married an Ohio native and has season tickets for Ohio State football, so he's got the crowd behind him. The course is playing tough, and, no coincidence why he's doing well, he's as tough as anyone on tour. I like his chances. The Scores. The greens at Muirfield Village are quicker than a jet-propelled ferret. They're fast and they have slope and are looking decidedly Augusta-like. If Saturday is as breezy as Friday (and it should be), look for scores to take a beating again as the dangerous greens exact a toll. What was that about a ferret? Ah, never mind.
