Rose: 'Worst U.S. Open greens I have ever played'
And the hits on Torrey Pines' greens keep on coming.
Justin Rose, after his second-round 72 today, said: "I have to say these are the worst greens I have ever played on in a U.S. Open." Rose shot 79 yesterday, and at nine over for the tournament will likely miss the cut.
Rose is the latest in a pack of players — Ernie Els, Stephen Ames, Robert Allenby — who have bad-mouthed the poa annua greens, which they described as bumpy and unpredictable. (Photo: John Biever/SI)
