Just to follow up on Cameron Morfit’s cogent analysis of the U.S. Open pairings, I call your attention to Miguel Angel Jimenez, Boo Weekley and Shingo Katayama. Three guys who don’t speak much English?
But there’s another threesome that I actually plan to follow next Thursday, even if I can’t think of an accompanying gag: Anthony Kim, Andres Romero and Ryuji Imada. Those three guys are the future-of-the-game grouping.

Meanwhile, has anybody worked out the grouping of Stewart Cink, Sergio Garcia and Vijay Singh? I’ve got a friend, retired CIA, working on it, and all he’s come up with so far is “right-handed golfers.”
Maybe I’m not paying him enough.
