Seminole Golf Club to Host 2021 Walker Cup
Here's a way to finally get on Seminole: buy a ticket to the Walker Cup. As Golf Digest reported, the exclusive Florida club will host the 2021 playing of the prestigious bi-annual competition, the first time that Seminole has staged an event open to the public since its founding in 1929.
The decision was driven by Seminole president Jimmy Dunne, a native New Yorker who was reportedly inspired by how brightly National Golf Links shined during the Walker Cup this past September. Once he went forward with the idea, it didn't take Dunne long to get the club and the USGA on board.
Though Seminole measures less than 7,000 yards, the Donald Ross design has shown it can stand up to the games top players. At this past year's Member-Pro event at Seminole, Rickie Fowler shot a tournament low of 65.
