Video: Dyson DQ'd at BMW Masters after rules violation

Television viewers nabbed another rule-breaking golfer on Saturday.
This time the offender was Simon Dyson, who was locked in a six-way tie for second place at the BMW Masters in Shanghai heading into the weekend -- until he was informed of his disqualification as he prepared to tee off for the third round.
On Friday, Dyson missed a birdie putt, and after marking his ball, he used the ball to touch a spot on the green in the line of his next putt, a violation of Rule 16-1a. Dyson was disqualified for failing to assess the resulting two-shot penalty and turning in an incorrect scorecard. As the Associated Press reported, the violation "could not have come at a worse time." Having earned no money this weekend, Dyson fell to No. 68 in the Race to Dubai, in which the European Tour's top 60 players compete for the DP World Tour Championship. Dyson has only one event, the Turkish Open, to make up that ground.
