Ian Poulter returns to Twitter after eight-day hiatus

Ian Poulter has 1,474,384 followers on Twitter. He apparently doesn't appreciate all of them.
Last Monday, he said he was instituting a self-imposed ban from the social media site because of all of the "F#%€ing idiots." But now he's back. If only for a moment.

Being one of the more active players on social media, criticism on Twitter comes with the territory. Poulter routinely talks about blocking followers, but he reached a breaking point on the Monday after the Masters. He responded to a question inquiring if he had congratulated Adam Scott on his victory the previous day. MorganApple23 thought his response sounded curt and asked if he had sour grapes. Poulter said he was happy for Scott, but then sent out the following tweet announcing his departure from Twitter "for now." Since he's tweeted pictures of every section of his in-home trophy case and his children playing croquet while he watched soccer on his outdoor television, we can imagine Poulter has experienced some negative commentary on Twitter.
