According to a report by ABC News, Cook County, Ill. residents should expect to see a tax of at least $1 per round of golf if the proposed budget goes into affect.
The area, home to nearly 100 golf courses and country clubs around Chicago, will introduce a wave of recreational and sin taxes to offset in increased budget and reduced property taxes.
Both residents and the local commissioner, John Fritchey, are at odds with the proposal, according to the report.

"There's little doubt in my mind that we are going to have a budget and we are going to have a budget before Thanksgiving will it look exactly like the president's proposal? Probably not," Fritchey said.
"To me it doesn't make sense. It's a healthful activity. You would think they would be trying to encourage people to do healthful activities," Randy Harmer said.
