Truth & Rumors: Rory McIlroy to visit White House

It's been a busy couple of weeks for the new world No. 1 Rory McIlroy: Win the Honda Classic, play some tennis with girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki and Maria Sharapova in front of thousands in New York, watch pal LeBron James play basketball in Miami and finish third at Doral. Now he's going to the White House. USA Today has the details:

McIlroy tweeted this Tuesday afternoon: "Going to have dinner in the White House tomorrow! Got a little help with my suit from Alexander Nash in NY."
McIlroy will be among the celebrities in attendance at a black-tie state dinner hosted by President Obama to honor British Prime Minister David Cameron. Others in attendance will include British actor Damian Lewis, who stars on the cable TV series Homeland.
Luke Donald can take back No. 1 ranking with win at Transitions ChampionshipAlthough the golf world appears more obsessed with Achilles than Homer, there is a tournament this week, the Transitions Championship, on an excellent golf course, Innisbrook's Copperhead course. And if Luke Donald wins, he'll take back the top spot from Rory McIlroy. The Daily Mail (UK) explains:
Justin Rose is in the field following his win at Doral and could be one to watch again, but most eyes, particularly one pair from Northern Ireland will be on Luke Donald.
The Englishman knows that a win at Innisbrook will send him back to the top of the pile ahead of McIlroy. And with five par-threes on this unusual par-71 layout, Donald will fancy his chances of recapturing the crown after giving way to Rory just a couple of weeks ago.
Rifle shot closes San Antonio golf courseSan Antonio's Mission Del Lago Golf Course gives new meaning to the phrase "tough track." According to news station, the course was closed Tuesday after a rifle shot found its way to the 15th hole:
Beautiful weather often calls for golf, and that was the case all throughout San Antonio on Tuesday. But it didn't happen at Mission Del Lago Golf Course. It was a ghost town after being shut down earlier in the day.
“We had over 100 people on the golf course today we had to remove once we became aware of the incident,” said Jim Roschek, president and CEO of the Alamo City Golf Trail.
That incident Roschek is referring to was a close call for a few employees playing the course late Monday evening.
“They heard what they thought was a rifle shot and a few minutes later a bullet whizzing by on the fifteenth hole,” Roschek said.
With a shooting range within a mile of Mission Del Lago, the sound of gun shots isn't uncommon, but just earlier this month an actual bullet struck a golfer in the chest on the twelfth hole, sending him to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“Very scary, very scary no doubt. I know I’m not going there for a while,” said avid golfer Ray Coleman.
