U.S. Ryder Cup team holds meeting at Tour Championship
ATLANTA -- U.S. Ryder Cup captain Corey Pavin held his final pre-Wales team meeting at an Atlanta hotel Wednesday night with players in town for this week's Tour Championship.
"I didn't want go anywhere near the golf course, just get together in a relaxed setting with the team," Pavin said.
With nine members of his U.S. team playing at East Lake Golf Club this week, Pavin was missing captain's picks Stewart Cink, Tiger Woods and Rickie Fowler.
"It's going to be a very busy week next week, but a lot of fun," U.S. team member Zach Johnson said. "It was nice to get with Corey and the team."
The U.S. team plans to leave Atlanta at 10 p.m. Sunday night on a direct flight to Cardiff, Wales. It's less than an hour's journey from there to Celtic Manor, the resort where the matches will take place.
