With all of the controversy swirling around the world of golf -- Tiger's leave of absence, Scott McCarron accusing Phil Mickelson of cheating -- it was only a matter of time until John Daly threw his hat in the ring.
Daly did so Friday when he announced his "retirement" from golf.
It just so happened Golf Channel was filming Daly for its upcoming show
"Being John Daly." After shooting rounds of 79-71 to miss the cut at
Torrey Pines, a somber Daly was interviewed by a Golf Channel producer (see video below) and said he was done with golf and tired of
taking spots from other players.
"I'm just hoping the negative things he said here at the end were just that -- just him blowing off steam, being extremely frustrated," Daly's caddie told Golf Channel. "I hope after a few days he'll get back to practicing and get some determination."More John Daly: Special Section | Life in Pictures
