Behind the scenes at the U.S. Senior Open

CARMEL, Ind. -- This item was relayed to me by a USGA rules official who'd been walking the course during Sunday's final round at the U.S. Senior Open at Crooked Stick.
The official was called in for a ruling in Brad Bryant's group. Bryant had hit an errant shot that came to rest on a female spectator's seat, wedged between her rear end and the seatback. Bryant walked up, sized up the situation, reached back to his caddie and said, "Hand me the butt-wedge."
The rules official said she planned to describe the ball's location in her report as "behind the behind." Yeah, we run a classy operation here at Press Tent.
