Blogging Round 1 of the J Golf Phoenix LPGA International

The LPGA Tour is back in the U.S. this week for the J Golf Phoenix LPGA International at Papago Golf Course. Two-time defending champion Lorena Ochoa headlines a field that includes Michelle Wie, Natalie Gulbis and Angela Stanford. One notable absent is Paula Creamer, who withdrew from the tournament. 9:04 p.m. EST Wie closed her round with two pars for a 1-over 73. 8:19 p.m. EST Wie bogeyed again on the 16th. She is at one over par. 8:01 p.m. EST Wie missed a short par putt on 15 to move to even par. 7:54 p.m. EST Two more par on Nos. 13 and 14 leave Wie at one under par. 7:05 p.m. EST Wie made pars on 11 and 12. She remains at one under par. 6:33 p.m. EST Wie made another birdie on the 10th. She's at one under par. 6:18 p.m. EST Michelle came back with a birdie on the par-4 ninth to make the turn at even par. 5:59 p.m. EST Wie bogeyed the par-3 eighth to move to one over par.    5:23 p.m. EST Wie stayed at even par with a pars on the sixth and seventh holes.  5:05 p.m EST Michelle moved back to even par after a bogey on the par-4 fifth. 4:48 p.m EST Wie made par on the fourth hole. She's still at one under par. The clubhouse leader is In-Kyung Kim at four under par.   4:30 p.m. EST Through the first three holes Michelle Wie is one under par after a birdie on the par-3 second hole.
