'Tiger has no chance, might miss cut'

The words belong to Carlos Monarrez, a writer and pal at the Detroit Free Press who once began a column like this: "I've made up my mind. I hate the British Open. And don't give me this 'cradle of golf' and 'oldest championship' argument. I don't care."
Carlos always has a strong take. I give him credit for that (though I needled him about this hatred for the British Open -- it happens to be my favorite major). Now Carlos is taking on Tiger, who unlike the overseas Open has eyes and ears. I wonder if Tiger will find out about this column -- as Jack Nicklaus did about the Tom McCollister column that helped inspire his win at the 1986 Masters -- and go ahead and win the U.S Open by a million shots.
