AK to IMG

During the afternoon I spent with Anthony Kim a couple of weeks ago, his fondness for Tiger Woods and Mark O'Meara quickly became apparent. All three are sons of Southern California, huge sports fans, and they all dominated golf's amateur ranks. So I was hardly surprised when an associate of Kim's called to tell me that Kim has agreed to sign with IMG, the powerhouse agency that also reps Woods, O'Meara and a host of other big names.
Kim, 22, split with Hambric Sports Management only days after winning the Wachovia Championship last month. Agent Rocky Hambric then filed a lawsuit against Kim seeking damages. When I asked Kim a couple of weeks ago about the split, he said that the situation had been weighing on him. He spent much of the last month considering his options.
"I'm so excited to have an opportunity to work with professionals that know exactly what I'm doing and what the job is," Kim said. "I'm excited to have people working hard when I'm not on the job." To read more about Kim, see Damon Hack's profile from Sports Illustrated.
