NORTH BERWICK (WEST LINKS)#98 in the World
For pure quirk, this ancient Scottish configuration may be exceeded
only by Prestwick among the classic courses of the U.K., but
few layouts have been more influential or fun to play, for that
matter. Its infamous par-3 15th hole, "Redan," is one of golf's
most copied, but the scooped out green at the 16th is even
more outrageous. Holes such as the par 4 13th, called "The
Pit," whose green sits just on the other side of a low stone
wall and the 14th, "Perfection," whose approach shot plays
to a beachside green, are both wacky and wonderful.
