Top 100: New and Improved!
JUPITER HILLS#93 in the U.S.
Back on our list after a six-year hiatus,
this George Fazio design on Florida's
Atlantic coast, just north of Palm
Beach, has rekindled interest thanks to
a recent Tom Fazio touch-up. William
Clay Ford and Bob Hope were among
the club founders in 1970 when
the course made an instant splash
with its resemblance to Pine Valley,
where George Fazio had been the longtime
pro. Seventy feet of elevation
change and stands of hardwoods
made it unusual for a Florida course.
Our panelists were mixed in their
reactions to the changes, but those
in favor were gaga over them. However,
it was unanimous that conditioning
has improved immensely and that,
for many, the course "fits the land like
a comfortable old shoe."• GOLF.com Course Finder Profile
