On the eve of the 2006 WGC-Accenture World Match Play Championship, Ames, the lowest-seeded player in the 64-man field, said, "Anything can happen, especially where he's hitting the ball."
Woods said little in reply and let his clubs do the talking, crushing Ames, 9 and 8, in their match the next day.
