In the Sunday singles matches at the 2006 Ryder Cup, Cink demolished Europe's hottest player, Sergio Garcia, in one of the few bright spots for the United States. Cink was at it again in the singles at Royal Montreal, blitzing Nick O'Hern, 6 and 4, and providing the winning U.S. point. He was impressive in two come-from-behind wins: with Zach Johnson against Rory Sabbatini and Trevor Immelman in Thursday's foursomes, and with Jim Furyk against K.J. Choi and Angel Cabrera in Saturday's four-ball.
