Most Overrated Players
By Farrell Evans and Rick Lipsey
It takes a lot of work to be overrated. You need to be so good early in your career that people think you'll be great, but then you need to somehow not live up to expectations. (We have no problem admitting that we are two of the most overrated golf writers in history. Indeed, we're honored to even be able to say we have a job description somewhat similar to greats like Gorjus George Lucas and Herbert Warren Wind.)
Without further ado, here are the most overrated Tour players of the last quarter century.
Colin Montgomerie
He's the most prolific British winner in European Tour history with 31 titles and a record eight money titles (including seven straight, 1993-99). But how great can you really be if you're 0-for-your-career on the PGA Tour?
