Wrist Worries
Phil Mickelson's season took a detour when he injured his wrist playing out of rough he referred to as "dangerous" during a practice round at Oakmont Country Club. He missed the cut at the U.S. Open and took two weeks off before returning for the AT&T National, where he also missed the cut. His troubles weren't over, as he missed the cut at the British Open and tied for 32nd at the PGA Championship. It was the first time he hadn't won a major since 2003.
