FedEx Absences
Several top players decided not to play all four weeks of the FedEx Cup playoffs. Ernie Els withdrew from the Deutsche Bank and Phil Mickelson from the BMW to spend time with their families. Tiger Woods withdrew from the first event, citing fatigue.
"My frustration from this past year came from asking for a couple of things in the FedEx Cup that weren't done and not really feeling all that bad now if I happen to miss [an event]," Mickelson said.
