This story is for you if...
• You don't create much power on tee shots
• Tee shots into the wind are disasters for you
• You think the trick is to just swing harder
The problem You're a short hitter to begin with, and now you face a drive into a stiff wind.
The solution Make a simple ball-position change and keep the tempo of your swing the same. For a typical drive, you should play the ball off your left armpit. To keep the ball low into the wind, move the ball back so you're playing it off your left chest, or the logo on your shirt. One final adjustment: forward-press your hands slightly toward the target to slightly hood the clubface. Now you're in business. Just don't try to kill the ball—the old line about "when it's breezy, swing easy" does hold true.
