Mallinger was magical with his putter
John Mallinger finished second among PGA Tour rookies on the 2007 money list, and he's off to a great start in 2008 after tying for third at Pebble Beach. On the notoriously bumpy greens at Pebble Beach, Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill, Mallinger made 31 of the 32 putts he faced from inside 10 feet (96.88%). In 2007, he made 86.76% from that range and ranked 104th on Tour in the category.
