Callaway FT-i Tour Low CG
Research showed that the original FT-i driver produced
too much backspin in the hands of faster swingers. The new
FT-i Tour Low CG counters this problem with its lower (by
0.200-inches) center of gravity. Bottom line: If you swing in
excess of 100 mph (or have a steep attack angle), you'll see
lower spin and the same forgiveness as the FT-i (the two
models have an identical head shape). At a 100 mph swing
speed, for example, the Tour Low CG spins 500 to 600 rpm
less. This translates to six yards more carry plus roll. Lastly,
its face angle at address is 0.5° open, whereas FT-i is 1° closed.

Cleveland HiBore XLS
A 17-percent larger clubface than its
predecessor (the HiBore XL) means you
get higher ball speeds over a larger area
of the face (think larger trampoline versus
smaller one). Two internal titanium
ribs connect the crown to the sole; this rigid
support structure limits vibration and
improves impact sound. The XLS comes
in standard (square face angle at address),
Tour (lower flight, more fade bias, 2° open)
and Draw (highest flight, offset hosel, 3°

Cobra Speed LD
The Speed LD has a more circular-shaped clubface than
last year's version, to boost ball speed on mis-hits.
Deeper dimples on the crown and
more body tilt from face to rear shift
the center of gravity location lower
and more rearward. This creates
a higher MOI (formerly
5,000 g/cm2, now 5,200),
for tighter dispersion on
off-center hits, increased
launch and lower spin.
Internal ribs contribute to

sound, which has a higher
pitch, shorter duration
and lower decibel level
than last year's model.

Tour Edge Exotics XCG
For starters, the cup-shaped titanium face and magnesium crown is combo-bonded
to a stainless steel body. This bonding process, or channel-locking
mechanism, requires less weight than typical welding or glue. The
light magnesium crown half the mass of titanium saves
additional grams, which are ultimately redistributed to the
sole. Magnesium also serves as a vibration dampener,
which helps contribute to a pleasing sound. The XCG
face varies in thickness, which works to boost COR
across more of it.
Note: A club's ability to close through impact, or "angular
momentum," is determined by its CG location.

The firm uses a recessed titanium crown to push weight
from the center to the club's perimeter, for enhanced
forgiveness on heel and toe strikes. (The head's MOI is 4,900
g/cm2.) Angling the lightweight crown (0.5-millimeter thick)
moves the club's center of gravity lower. This decreases spin
on contact and increases the vertical gear effect. A 46-inch
shaft is standard.
The "spine" improves impact acoustics
and reinforces the crown.
