Mike Nicolette, senior
design engineer:
"The S57 represents
the third-generation Ping
blade and is the most
sought after by our Tour pros. We
tested the prototypes with several
pros early in the year and they
wanted to take sets with them.
Unfortunately, we weren't ready
to give them their sets. It was
worth the wait, as several
guys switched immediately."
How it works: Cast
stainless steel heads come
complete with a thin topline,
narrow sole and machined
face and grooves. Vertical
weight bars reinforce the face
for consistent feel and distance
control. Tungsten toe weight
locates the club's center of gravity
in the middle of the face. The
black pad, made of thermoplastic
urethane, tempers vibration. Choose
to be custom-fit for shaft length, grip
size and one of 12 lie angles.
