Crush Fairway Woods Like Power-Hitter Tony Finau

Tony Finau is One to Watch This Year After Puerto Rico Open Win
The GOLF LIVE experts explain why Tony Finau, who nabbed his first win on Tour on Sunday, has all the hallmarks of a rising star.

Steal these four moves from the Tour's longest hitter for absolutely Finau-menol fairway woods.

1. EYE ON THE PRIZE

Tony's eyes lock in on the impact point, which helps keep his head rock steady. If you drew a line between his eyes, it would point straight down the target line. The eyes influence the swing path. Set yours "on plane" like this and the club will follow.

2. GIVE IT A STIFF ARM

Finau's right arm "snaps" straight and aligns with the clubshaft. Mirror this motion and you'll instantly max out clubhead speed.

3. SHAKE HANDS

His right wrist is flat, as though he's shaking hands with the club. This power-hitter's release gets the club's toe pointing toward the target. Remember: Toe at target, ball at target.

4. PUSH & TILT

Finau's right hip is lower than his left. Tilting your hips like this through impact promotes a square strike. As you start down, use your right hip to push your left up and out of the way. You've done it correctly if the right side of your torso points toward the ground at impact.
