Rory McIlroy has been called many things since he broke off his engagement to Danish tennis star Caroline Wozniacki last week in a three-minute phone call, but here's a new one.
According to The Independent, three-time major winner Padraig Harrington called the decision "brave" and praised McIlroy for ending the relationship instead taking the "simpler" path of continuing.
"It was a brave decision, there are many people who have gone through with things that they feel in hindsight that they shouldn't have ... It really was a big decision to call it off and to take all that heat and pressure and stress. It would have been simpler to keep going ... I'm sure it was very difficult for the both of them and it being played out in the media is tough as well."
Following their breakup, Mcllroy forged ahead and won the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, while Wozniacki was ousted in the first round of the French Open.
