Chargers Fan Phil Mickelson to Stop in Mile-High City For Playoff Game
Maui or the Midwest in mid-winter?
It was an easy decision for San Diego Chargers fan Phil Mickelson, who flew to Ohio with his wife Amy this past weekend to watch his team upset the Cincinnati Bengals.
Now, as many of his peers move on from Maui to the Sony Open in Honolulu, Mickelson will make his way to the Mile High City, where the Chargers take on the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Thanks to his two wins in 2013, Mickelson had an invite to play in Kapalua this past weekend. But, like Tiger Woods, Lefty usually skips the Tour's Hawaii swing, waiting for the action to come to California.
Meantime, though, the NFL playoffs have given him cause to log some extra air miles. From Denver, Mickelson will wing off to Abu Dhabi for the 2014 HSBC Golf Championship, where (should his Chargers get past the Broncos) he'll do some scoreboard watching of a different kind.
