(AP) — Conde Nast Publications, a unit of privately held Advance Publications, said Monday it was shutting down Golf For Women magazine with its July/August issue after 20 years.

"We came to this decision because we feel the magazine will not support our long-term business objectives," Charles H. Townsend, president and chief executive of Conde Nast Publications, said in a statement.

Golf For Women, published six times a year, has a ratebase of 600,000.

Conde Nast purchased the magazine — which was launched in 1988 — in 2001 from Meredith Corp.
