SANTO DA SERRA, Madeira Islands (AP) South Africa's Hennie Otto took a four-stroke lead in the Madeira Islands Open on Friday, shooting his second straight 5-under 67 in the round delayed 2 1/2 hours by high wind, then suspended because of darkness.
Wearing clothes purchased at the pro shop to replace his lost luggage, the 31-year-old Otto eagled the par-4 10th, pitching in from 10 yards off the green after a wind-assisted 385-yard drive.
More than half the players were unable to complete the round.
First-round leader Sven Struever of Germany and Fredrik Widmark of Sweden were tied for second at 6 under. Struever was even par for the day through nine holes, while Widmark was 2 under through six.
