Up

Padraig Harrington
He flew under the radar for three days, played 17 great holes on Sunday, then overcame a Van de Velde moment at 18 to win.

Skin Shirt
From Tiger Woods's muscle clinger to Boo Weekley's camo, the body-hugging, long-sleeve undershirt was the week's star.

Boo Weekley
The straight-talking, tobacco-chewin' good ol' boy was a fave of the British tabs, and for a guy who'd never played links golf (he didn't even know who Jean Van de Velde was), he impressed with his play, finishing 35th.

Faldo-Azinger
We've now seen enough of Nick Faldo to know he's good, but last week was a reminder that he's even better when he's trading zingers with Zinger. Maybe CBS will reunite them.

Rory McIlroy
The 18- year-old wowed the crowd by making the cut and finishing as the low amateur at five over.

Andres Romero
He added a gut-wrenching story line to Sunday's proceedings as his final 11 holes included no pars, but seven birdies, two bogeys and two doubles, including the debacle at 17.

Mittens
The comfy hand warmers got plenty of airtime as players tried to fight off the typical Scottish summer. Brrrrrrr.

Down

Sergio Garcia
Never on a Sunday. Sergio continued to struggle in the final pair at a major. He was ahead for 31.2 days but couldn't hold on to a three-shot lead under pressure.

Spanish Flagwear
From canary costume to Burger King manager, Garcia's getup was straight from Barfelona.

Gary Player
The Black Knight may have had noble intentions, and hopefully his outburst will help bring about change, but injecting a whiff of McCarthyism doesn't smell good.

Bobby Clampett
King of the obvious, master of the cliche, spinner of swing jargon — Jed Clampett would be better.

Tiger Woods
After an opening 69, Woods seemed to lose control of his ball, missing fairways and greens left and right. Only a hot putter allowed him to stay at two under and finish 12th.

Phil Mickelson
Lefty and his balky wrist missed the cut at a second straight major. Expect him to shut it down after the PGA.

Sunscreen
With temperatures that never got out of the 50s, overcast skies and on-and-off rain, Coppertone didn't cash in. At least the wind stayed calm.
