Brett Quigley, who accidentally beaned a marshal with his drive on the 10th hole Monday, continued his tumultuous first Masters. His wife, Amy, was not due with the couple's first child, a girl, until April 16, but Quigley had a feeling Tuesday. He turned on his phone after finishing play on the 11th green to find out her water had broken.
He shook hands with his playing partners, Lucas Glover and Jeff Sluman, and boarded a plane at 3:15 p.m. to fly home to Jupiter, Fla., and was hoping the baby would be born Wednesday morning. He has not withdrawn from the tournament and expected to be back by Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
Tee times were announced late Tuesday, and Quigley will tee off in the second to last group in Thursday's first round, with Vijay Singh and Hideto Tanihara at 2:03 p.m. The fortuitous late time could give him enough time to return to Augusta.
