How to Start Down

The Old Way
Bump your hip left and drop your hands.

The New Way
Kick your right knee to the left and drop your hands

Why It's Better
Starting your downswing by kicking in your right knee toward the target gets your weight correctly moving left. It also moves the bottom of your swing arc forward where it needs to be and jump-starts your pivot toward the target.

How to Do It
It's as simple as it looks, but you also need to roll your ankles toward the target and lift your right heel. It should feel like the toes of your right foot are pushing your right knee toward your left. If you stay flat-footed, your right knee will have the tendency to shoot forward and impede your turn.
