How to Hit All-Feel, No-Think Shots
5. PUTTING
On the green, I like to imagine I'm keeping everything still except the putterhead. That's not exactly the case, but that's what I want it to feel like.
MY 3 KEYS TO PUTTING
1. Mimic your full swing When I'm putting well, my stroke mimics my full swing, which is a fluid, flowing, big swing. I try to keep my putting stroke like that, too, because it helps me achieve a good tempo.
2. Focus like a laser People sometimes say, "Be the ball." It sounds corny, but that's what I do. I try to bury my head in the ball focusing on just one dimple and all I think about is starting the ball on the right line.
3. Feel your speed Speed is a reaction. I am a true feel putter. When I walk up to a green, I can't not read the slope of the green, its speed and how any ridge will play. It's automatic, like second nature. I just know how hard to hit it.
