Rees Jones on how it changed: "We shifted the fairway 10 yards to the left, to bring it closer to the cliff edge above the ocean. To keep the big hitters honest, we relocated the right fairway bunker and added a second bunker farther from the tees. We moved the green complex 50 feet to the left and 20 yards beyond the existing green, to bring the canyon into the equation. We added a new bunker to the front-left of the green, but those who bail right will encounter a ramp and a shaved-down bank."
Peter Kostis on the primary challenges to the players: "The green is fairly accessible from the fairway, but with a crosswind and a narrow landing area, the emphasis is definitely on control. A dink-dink, plop-plop player such as Luke Donald or Billy Mayfair will probably thrive here."
Bottom line: A hook will likely find the ocean, but prevailing breezes should help keep most drives in play.
