Fore Right!
On the first tee at the Match Play at
the Gallery at Dove Mountain, in
Arizona, Woods hits his drive O.B., a
rotten start to his quest for a sixth win
in a row.
He looks crushed a true Woodsian reaction. Rather than hide his dismay, he expresses it.
"He leans on his club as if he'd like someone to lean on," Hargrave says. "In these pensive moments, Tiger may be thinking of lessons his father taught him about persistence and determination."
Woods has often said that he flashes back to long-ago rounds with Earl Woods when he needs a mental boost.
What you can do:
Hit a bad shot? Get
mad for 10 steps only, says Top 100 Teacher Mike Malaska. "Tiger's dad
taught Tiger it was OK to be angry for 10
steps, but he must let it go on the 11th."
