Srixon Z-Steel
$199, graphite

We tested: 3+ (12.5°), 3 (14.5°) and 5 (18.5°) in SV-3005J graphite shaft. Shaft length (3-wood): 42.75", graphite

Company line: "The face, sole and back wall have varying thicknesses, so the entire head deforms at impact. The result is more power with lower spin. A slightly deeper face profile delivers a hot, penetrating trajectory."

Our Test Panel Says:
PROS: Pinpoint accuracy, shots stick close to the center line; lowest, most piercing ball flight of the group; generous distance, tied for second-longest; excellent sticks for breezy days; attractive, compact size and shape; well balanced, crisp feel on center hits; stronger swingers find these to be an excellent option.

CONS: Many testers prefer an easier time getting shots airborne; surprisingly difficult to move the ball purposefully; no sight aid; several mid-handicappers want more "help" on mis-hits.

"Shots play to a narrow cone of dispersion." — Gary Wilson (13)
