Readers' Choice: Best Golf Cities in America

Last year, Golf Magazine and the National Golf Foundation teamed up for our first-annual countdown of the 10 Best Golf Cities in America. This year, we asked you to weigh in. After more than 1,000 votes, we have our new list. You disagreed with us on several cities, including Chicago, which jumped to No. 5 from No. 46.

No. 10
Charlotte, N.C.

Better known for its NASCAR tracks than for its trophy courses, Charlotte nevertheless serves up an appealing — and affordable — blend of public courses such as Birkdale, Renaissance Park, Charlotte Golf Links and Ballantyne Resort. The city also features private gems such as the Donald Ross-designed Charlotte Country Club and Quail Hollow, site of the PGA Tour's Wachovia Championship.
