Under Fire
Tim Finchem fielded comments, both positive and negative, all season long about the FedEx Cup. Players complained about the schedule they have only one week off before the Presidents Cup, and next year they will have no break before the Ryder Cup. They complained about the prize money being an annuity Phil Mickelson suggested a big check or piles of cash.
Finchem stood by the Cup, though. "In my view, my strong view, it's accomplishing what it's set out to do, create a better end of the season, create some really powerful events in business markets around the country, get the best players playing, and most importantly, give the fans something that they can enjoy," he said.
